The Latest in Programs: Picasa 3.5 Review

Picasa, Google's free photo editor, has released it's 3.5 update. The new main feature is facial recognition. Tag one or two photos of yourself, friends, or family and it will automatically scan your entire library for other pictures of them. It is VERY accurate in suggestions for the people you tagged. Here at The Latest of Tech, in about 10,000 pictures, it only messed up on under 50 (and most of those were blurry group-shots). If you use Picasa, it is well worth the update. But to note, to scan entire libraries, it DOES take a time, so it's best to leave it running in the background. Download it at: Picasa.com. Some other facial recognition software that should be noted is iPhoto, and Windows Live Photo Gallery. But out of all three, Picasa's facial recognition is the best.
